Brownell is home to one of the the most fun, money-raising and smart fundraisers, the Tin Can Auction. Every other year, we earn thousands of dollars as a school and some lucky students go home with  awesome advisory-donated prizes. There is only one downside that comes with our fundraiser, it only comes around once every two years.

We need another fundraiser to complement this success. One idea would be to host a quarterly fundraiser that could raise money very fast for Brownell. Something that would be popular which would bring in a lot of money. A 50:50 raffle available to all students.

At the end of every quarter Brownell could host an all school raffle with all tickets starting at $1. If every student purchased three tickets each, the lucky winner would receive $900 and Brownell would also earn $900. After four quarters, that would be $3,600 for our school.

The best part is Brownell only has to buy a large bucket to put all the tickets in. Most students would put a few dollars on the line to win a lot more than they paid for.

Doing a raffle every quarter is a large income for Brownell. And because it’s so often occurring we can buys things we want or need constantly. For example we can get rid of the stage located in the gym and replace it with a workout room for the Phys. Ed. students. That is only one of the multiple ideas that could be afforded by this raffle.

Matthew K., 8th grader, said, “I would love a raffle, it’s money for students and money for our school.”

A quarterly 50:50 raffle could be a great fundraiser. It’s fun because the winner gets a large portion of cash and Brownell earns some needed money to improve the school. Adding a 50:50 raffle could very nicely complement our Tin Can Auction.
