There are many sicknesses going around right now. For example, the common cold, cough, and flu. You can prevent catching these illnesses by doing a few simple things.

Symptoms of the common cold are having a runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, cough, congestion, body aches, headaches, sneezing, low fever, and not feeling well in general.

When you get a cough, some symptoms that occur can be headaches and congestion.

Symptoms of the flu are having a fever over 100 degrees, muscle aches in the back, arms and legs, chills and sweats, headache, dry cough, fatigue and weakness, nasal congestion, sore throat, and throwing up. When you have the flu, you pretty much lay in bed all day doing nothing.

You can prevent the spread of germs by washing your hands for 20 seconds under warm water, avoiding contact with people who are sick, getting yearly vaccinations like a flu shot, and wiping down your desktop/surrounding areas. Also, avoid going to school or places where you come in contact with people if you are feeling under the weather.

Medicines you can take when sick include Advil, Motrin, ibuprofen, NyQuil, and Tylenol. These medicines numb the pain as well as help the immune system fight off the white cells. They also reduce inflammation. There are also at-home remedies that you can make with ingredients you can make at home. If your illness is serious, visit your doctor and get a prescription.

Taking caution is important if you feel any of these symptoms. Doing so will prevent sickness from spreading around and affecting the people around you.
