On the 500 block of Washington Rd., in Grosse Pointe City, a fire broke out causing three houses to come down in flames. The fire started during the night time on Monday, March 25th, 2018. Homeowners near the homes said that the homes were engulfed in flames, and it was very shocking. Grosse Pointe City Police and Fire Department needed extra help, in which they had to call Grosse Pointe Shores and Farms Police and Fire. No one was injured, nor died, and they safely got all pets out of the homes. Police believe that the home that caused the fire was the home in the middle of the three that burned. The one that started it was under construction, after being bought by a family last year. The police claim they have no sign of how the fire started, but they have their theories. This is the second time in two years that the police have been called to Washington. The first was a home break in, that happened last year. The only option with the homes, though, was to tear down most if not all of each house. None of the houses around the center three had severe damage, if any.
